I know that this post should have been before all of my other valentine post's, but I didn't have my paper mache letters finished. They kind of remind me of a high-school football game, I don't know why, I think its the shape of the letters and the bright red even though I tried toning it down. Anyways I really do like how the whole mantle turned out and it was a fun process! I definitely don't feel like any type of decorator, but I love seeing what others are doing and I get inspired almost daily by what I see on other blogs.
This is my paper mache process. I got my tips from this website. I tried all three ways and I liked using the glue the most. The flour mixtures were just too gooey for me.
I used a glue gun and cereal boxes for the base of my letters.

The final product! Bumpy lumpy and I almost threw them out! But, then I just embraced their flaws and was happier for it!
